In response to the devastating Alberta wildfires, TRREB donated $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross. This donation was part of CREA's REALTORS Care® fundraising and assisted with critical relief, recovery, and resilience efforts. Over $70,000 was raised for the campaign.
For TRREB Members, giving back comes naturally, and this year was no different. Our Members continue to play a meaningful role in the communities they serve that goes beyond helping individuals and families achieve their homeownership dreams.
Each year, TRREB hands out prestigious awards to deserving Members. Frank Farhangi received the David Rossi Committee Service Award. In 2023, TRREB donated nearly $1 Million Dollars to house and feed the most vulnerable members of society. TRREB and our Members have supported the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation since 2008. Raising awareness about the importance of safe and affordable housing is a passion for TRREB Members. That’s why our Members gathered for the Habitat for Humanity GTA TRREB Build Days to help construct a home for those in need. Since 2014, 132 TRREB Members have participated in 17 team Build Days across the GTA, resulting in 924 volunteer hours to date.
TRREB Members have their eye on the big picture for all homeowners and businessowners. They know how new and existing government policies impact Torontonians and Ontarians. That’s why TRREB continues to call on all levels of government to address affordability and cut the red tape to build more homes. As we approach 2024, TRREB is at the forefront in addressing the obstacles facing our marketplace.
TRREB Members are keeping their clients informed on the housing issues that matter most. Alongside our Members we are educating homebuyers and sellers on the overall impact of taxation on real estate and how it exacerbates housing affordability.
Looking forward, we know a solid demand for housing – both ownership and rental – will grow in the Greater Toronto Area and broader Greater Golden Horseshoe. Record immigration levels alone will assure this and there are not enough homes to accommodate the growing population.
TRREB's Board of Directors represent and serve the needs of our diverse membership. Since their term began in January, the Board of Directors have put Members first to ensure they have the necessary data and information to support their clients every step of the way.
TRREB builds on our promise to provide cutting-edge technology. This year, we introduced and expanded on an array of innovative tools powered by PropTx. ListTrac, the HoodQ Homebuyer Hub and SkySlope forms are three new ways Members can unlock more essential real estate data to support their buyers and sellers.
Connection is key to any real estate deal and REALM™ is leading the MLS® System space. We introduced new functions that REALTORS® can only find in REALM™, including FaceID and TouchID in the mobile-friendly app that provides faster logins. TRREB Members can also invite their clients to REALM™ to view sold and leased prices via a password-protected account.
